Baltic Offshore and Tykoflex awarded EU funding

A robust foundation today. Now developing the capability to handle extremes.

We are pleased to have been awarded EU funding to help strengthen the Baltic Sea’s digital resilience. The region already has a proven model for handling normal subsea cable faults, but today’s security landscape demands readiness for unexpected peaks.

Minister for Civil Defence Erik Slottner, together with authorities such Post- och telestyrelsen (PTS) and MSB (Myndigheten för samhällsskydd och beredskap), has emphasised the importance of protecting Sweden’s critical digital infrastructure.

As part of the EU-funded project “How repair preparedness can stimulate resilient and diversified fibre optic cable systems”, carried out under the European Commission and European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), Baltic Offshore is developing the framework communicated as the Subsea Resilience Program, together with Tykoflex AB and regional partner Lilaco Offshore, enabling repair capacity to scale when several incidents occur simultaneously supporting infrastructure owners in the Baltic Sea region.
