Baltic Offshore Group Appoints New Chairman of the Board

Baltic Offshore announce the appointment of Dr. Staffan Hedén as the new Chairman of the Board.

Baltic Offshore offers a wide range of customized maintenance and installation services and can simplify and secure installations from early stages to turnkey deliveries. The soul of the company dates back to 1853 when Kongl. The Elecktriska Telegraf-Werket was established to build up the national telegraph infrastructure, including early research and development of submarine cables.

After the launch of CS PLEIJEL the submarine cable unit was a key player in building the Baltic Sea’s fiber-optic network. Today, the company has evolved into a full-service provider for both submarine telecom and power cables.

“Over the years, we’ve continuously refined Pleijel into a highly advanced cable laying vessel, featuring DPII capabilities, a laying system for simultaneous installation of multiple cables, and survey and inspection systems to mention some”, says CEO Natalie Franzén.

“Baltic is located at an exciting intersection between shipping, telecom/electric power, construction – and has been a leader in the development of the submarine cable assembly in Sweden and in the fiber expansion in the Baltic Sea”, says Dr. Staffan Hedén.
